DOOM - A Reboot or Re-telling?

DOOM was at Bethesda's E3 conference last night and many questions are still left un-answered. Is DOOM a reboot or re-telling? All that was really announced plot wise was that it was based on a U.A.C. facility on Mars and that multi-player would feature "maps from Hell." But this leaves me to wonder... will this be based on one of Mars' moons like Ultimate DOOM (original) or on the red planet itself like DOOM 3? Also... with this just being called "DOOM"... it seems quite likely that we'll see a reboot of DOOM II - Hell on Earth in years to follow.

I found this combo at eBay.ca selling for about $1,492 Canadian + $100 shipping. It's a factory sealed VGA 90 Mint DOOM v1.666 with a VGA 85 DOOM Gun Controller sealed in one box. Nothing I could ever afford but it's nice to dream.

DOOM 3 Alpha [2002] E3 Demo

 

This is the DOOM 3 Alpha Demo shown at E3 2002. As you can probably tell... the engine is pretty much the same but the gameplay has changed entirely.

DOOM 4 Demo

 

Found this video posted in Russian (I think). Some people say it's a DOOM 3 mod, some say Quake... possibly iD5 engine? No one really seems to know. It's pretty cool none-the-less.
