I'm going to be opening a "Free Version Games" section on this site hosting rips of shareware and demo games developed mainly between mid-90s to early-2000s. These will //NOT// be hand-me-down "lost bit" digital editions from other sources. I will be physically purchasing the shareware and demo packs and creating exclusive (.ISO) CD image file rips of the entire package and //NOT// splitting apart the install files.
To begin, I will be collecting MS-DoS / Apple II / Windows 95-XP / Dreamcast / PlayStation 1&2.
The (.ISO) packages will created using PowerISO; however, players will be prompted to use DAEMON Tools Lite to mount the image resource (.ISO) to make it accessible through your computer and decompress its contents. Both "PowerISO" and "DAEMON Tools Lite" will be made available on our server.
Speaking of servers. Currently this website (core) is hosted using "Google's Blogger.com" free blog engine and as of now it looks like things are staying that way. Right now the file server & domain name is supplied by "GoDaddy.ca" which supplies our site with //near unlimited// bandwidth, 100GB cyberspace, ad-free, email address redirects (user@thedoomd.com), online file manager (CPanel), community forums (PHPBB3), MySQL directories on a Linux-based platform...
Being Linux-based hosting.. I may decide to eventually switch over from "Google's Blogger.com" and pick up a copy of "Neocrome's Seditio" (ex-L.D.U.) and hack it all out and install plugins.. Seditio is one of the most complete user-friendly community site engines you can get and I believe they are on Version 7 or something now..
... I do eventually plan on opening an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) service using the "IRCd" protocol. I'll be running this on a personal PC likely on the Windows 10 platform. After I invest into the "LightIRC" app as a Browser-based IRC Client.. I may also run the "Apache Friends' XAMPP" webserv so that the "IRCd" and "LightIRC" can run on the same server platform.
